PETRIFIED WOOD

WHAT IS PETRIFIED WOOD ?...

The Word, to petrify, literally means, "turns to stone"Petrified Wood, then, is wood that has turned to stone. The English word is similar to the Greek (piedra) and Latin (pietra) words for stone.Petrified wood is a fossil of a woody plant preserved by permineralization through time by chemical and physical processes. In some cases, fossilized wood is readily identifiable. Generally, the species can be determined by examining thin slices of the fossil under a microscope. The microscopic structure of the fossilized wood is then compared to the cellular structure of living species.

TEAK WOOD

Teak wood is the best timber for outdoor furniture, patio furniture & garden furniture! All the teak wood used in the manufacture of our teak root furniture is sourced from sustainable plantations. The Dutch, who were the colonial power at that time, started these teak wood plantations about one hundred and fifty years ago. The teak wood plantations are now owned and managed by the Indonesian Government Agency Perum Perhutani, which is responsible for managing a strict policy regarding the size and quantity of teak tress felled each year together with annual replanting.
